Continuous mapping of flooded zones in the area of Phnom Penh (Cambodia)

Flood history mapping is one of the products included in the EO4SD-Urban project portfolio. In this framework, multitemporal Sentinel-1 radar imagery has been used for continuously delineating flooded zones in the area of Phnom Penh (Cambodia) between December 2015 and February 2017. In particular, as one can see from the animation, many sites experienced flooding, especially due to agricultural activities in support to rice cultivation. To this purpose, additional post-processing taking into account ancillary information (e.g., land-cover / land-use) will be performed to further discriminate areas intentionally being flooded from the rest.
